Think we already had this discussion what is and isn't and we all have different answers
Much of it seems to depend on your state's laws.

I remember 50 years ago in Jersey, I couldn't get my stock Challenger through inspection.

It’s the same now. And they have official state run emissions centers with cameras under the car to look for exhaust

I don't know anyone who's had a problem.

They've had emissions as long as I remember and they would jack your car up to check the front end and underneath.

I'm missing the fluid drops?
Overheating doesn’t mean spitting coolant. Hood is off. Those cars run a small radiator and small trans cooler. They need hood off to keep from over heating in the highway

That's normal for these cars to run with the hood off. Many will remove the belly pan.

They run a different cooling system on a drag and drive than what's used for track only events otherwise everything would quickly cook itself.

These guys were finishing up around a 350 mile trip from South Georgia.

The entire front end is sealed up except for the turbos, check it out. Hood is off so it won’t overheat in the highway and street.

You do know that I took the picture?

If you read 1 of my previous posts you will see where I said that the hood often is removed along with the belly pan.

That's a parking lot. It was full of the competitors and people who were there to see them come through. Many were in the bar, eating and drinking.

I did see that, didn’t click what you were saying is that you agreed with me that they remove the hood (and belly pan) so that it doesn’t overheat on the highway. That’s awesome, looks like a great time. Why the trailer though?

Most pull a trailer for tools, fuel, needed spare parts and tires. You can't have a support truck and only the driver and copilot can touch the car.

Some cars take 2-3 hours or more to switch from track to street. Some guys will change injectors but the faster cars usually have a street set along the the track ones. So many cars have 24 injectors.

I could give you my 7 second race sled and you would probably never get it down the track, and quite possibly kill yourself as 3 other racers did in the outlaw class when I raced professionally, because its all about power management.
Im simply learning about my car, how to drive it, how to prep it, what its strength and weakness are, etc. Im not doing anything that hasn't been done already, I am gaining experience on making my car faster, and doing it one well thought out modification after the other while understanding what power increase should relate to what et and mph increase. For me, The journey is more important than the destination. I love making horsepower and learning how to get it to the ground. This will NEVER be a race car, My goal is to run a 8sec 1/4 mile with as little HP as possible and to build memories with friends while we do it.
Congratulations that's a Great ET for your start to your goals!

#1 I have to believe you are talking about a sled = snowmobile. There was this time my husband John and I were at Maple Grove raceway with my Hellcat. We heard this loud whining news and turned to see what it was. I couldn't believe that someone was dragracing a snowmobile in the 1/4 mile. John chuckled and said" The Fastest ET of the day was from the snowmobile" and it sure was wicked fast. Like you, it was running 7s.

#2. I think it's smart of you, on how you are going about the build your RE in stages. I think it is the best way to reach your end goal. Testing and Tuning each stage adding parts will most likely get you there without too much carnage. It's really great that there is so much information now from the Experienced and Knowledgeable especially, the Plethora of Track tested parts.

Good Luck with your Journey, I know it will be awesome with lots of memories and friends!:cool::cool:

Keep on Enjoying All The Fasssst Fun!:cool::cool:

~Linda :)
