I didn't even mention the 10 special edition 2011 392 Kowalski Challengers that were produced for Bob Frederick's Dodge. They got a legit special VIN and everything. Never heard anything else about them, but a buddy bought one. Later sold it for a Hellcat.

I think part of the reason people are willing to pay so much for things is this generation seem to not have any patience nor negotiating skill. The every kid gets a trophy crowd had kids, both parents worked making an OK living, and kids got all kinds of stuff. Most didn't have high school jobs, much less college, had parents pay for their first cars, apartment in school, etc. I don't think they really have a sense of value/money and are likely up to their eyeballs in debt. This is all just a theory, however.

Low interests rates are a big reason for the inflation. People will spend whatever because the rate is low.

At 2 of the reveals for the Hellcat, Tim stated 5% of the Dodge family want the insane power. That figure was something like 3k units at the time. There was no hard number just a percentage.
But they did way understate the demand for the car. Especially at 59k

ADM is going to be insane on the 2023's...going to have to have JimmyN connections to even have a chance of getting an allocation.

And here I've been considering getting a spare Challenger for a while now. On top of that, I just sold the AWD Challenger and miss it quite a bit.

On the positive side, I still haven't wrecked the '18 (oddly enough), and I'm out of money.
But it's still very tempting, damn it.

My guess. It’s fast for a car that gets 29 mpg.

We already have those. I usually get about 22 with mine, and my girlfriend consistently gets 24 mpg and change with her Redeye.

My guess is that if adhering to the speed limits, somewhat, we'd both be able to see 29 mpg.

I absolutely HATE when salesmen try to sell me a car with the "How much per month" in its various forms.


Total cost and interest rate... ...period...


Anything else is pointless, my monthly budget is my problem, not theirs.

Just watched tonight's reveal. I dont even know what to think. I mean I get it, a crossover "Hornet" but the name is weird, the presentation was weird, and why are they marketing as a performance vehicle? I see another Dart debacle in the making.

My thoughts exactly. I mean I get that Dodge is being pushed out of their core market by emissions regulations and that they need a bread and butter model to stay in business for now at least. EV‘s havent proven themselves out yet so they were smart to get into the compact SUV market. It’s the hottest market currently. When you think about it it makes perfect sense. But why oh why oh why would they do a reveal at a muscle car event at Woodward? The marketing makes no sense, Hellcat owners aren’t going to welcome a Dodge Dart SUV ’into the hive’.
