For me, photos are enough to decide on whether to buy or not. So far I haven't been disappointed. If anything, usually pleasantly surprised instead.
Heck, my latest purchase I hadn't even seen photos of, and after being told I'd get $5K off if taking it "as is" I hooked up the trailer and drove some 500 miles to the dealer. Had it been something I didn't care for I could've simply driven back home again, or negotiated more on the price, but it really exceeded my expectations. It needed tires and the rest of it was near perfect.
I think California Durango prices might hold since that state makes it a hassle, and many aren't motivated enough to jump through the hoops, but in the other "forbidden" states it should be as simple as buying out of state. I see no reason for '25 and earlier Durangos holding their value when new ones will cost quite a bit less than they used to.
Personally, I'm glad that I sold my '23 DDHC when I did (in '23) and I wouldn't be surprised if my '19 V6 will hold or even increase in value now that those aren't readily available anymore.
