Things looked that way at the start of Trump's term in 2017 as well.

But I agree. GOP should walk right into another victory. But midterms are not friendly to the party in power. And if they shake things up enough, it could be a bloodbath in 2028.
I have no idea who would even run.
Ok, Debbie Downer! This also is NOT the same Trump as 2017:love:, He knows what they do and what he's up against, he is very well prepared this time! He had four years of hell to get angry and become prepared:cool:

If mid century redistricting goes through it will be 250 to 180 seats 😆. Eat crow Demonrats!
I think its political gamesmanship but I have my doubts it would work.

I'm also of the belief that when one party forces some type of change for their advantage, the other party will actually benefit more.
Dems screwed with Senate rules to get Obamacare passed.
Reps then blew past the whole filibuster tie ups and passed stuff anyway under Trump.

In this situation, Texas only has 12 seats to gain. I find it hard to believe Austin will go red no matter how hard they try to cut it up. San Antonio, Dallas, and Houston would also follow suit. So at best, I see it going from 12 dems down to 4. A nice pick up.

But i'd fully expect Newsome, the little clown he is, to do the same. And there are no major cities that went red in california. So like Illinois, which has most of the state tied up in Chicago, Newsome could attach each red county to a blue city and eliminate the 9 red reps. In this situation, the dems pick up one seat.

If NY and IL follow, its another 10 for the dems.

And if Ohio thinks its turning Cleveland, Cincy, and Columbus red, they have another thing coming too. So flipping 5 Dems to red? Maybe 1 or 2. They already had this redistricting thing not too long ago. Got rid of the one guy who was adamant about universal healthcare.

CA, IL, and NY go blue and add 19 seats
Texas and Ohio swing further red but end up only flipping 10 seats

Currently its 219R to 212D with 4 vacant
Flip these seats, and give the 4 vacants to R, its 214R and 221D

Sounds great for sound bytes, but you called them Demoncrats for a reason. They are salivating over Texas wanting to do this for a reason.
