Thought it would be neat to see some of your other "older cars". I have been racing up and down the west coast since '98 with this '68 road runner and a '70 Challenger R/T tube chassis car. Last year I sold the Challenger so hope to concentrate on the RR now........
The '68 is set up as a uncut stock eliminator type chassis with a pump gas 505" wedge and runs 10.30's at 131. The Challenger was a 2600# tube chassis car with a 500" 14.5/1 compression race gas motor or a 572" aluminum wedge on pump gas. Both motors ran the car at 9.0's at 147.

I don’t have anything “old” my first time down the track was in 2002 in a 1995 Eagle Talon TSI (4cyl turbo 5spd AWD)… was a handful for whoever was in the other lane at a red light, but a 14sec quarter mile wasn’t too impressive next to drag cars. After that was an 11sec 87 Foxbody, 5.0, AFR heads, 303cam and Vortech A-trim - had nitrous, never used at the track. Then an 11sec 3000GT VR4 - fuel and boost, 10sec Boss Hoss - stock, 10sec Ninja, 10sec 97 Cobra Vert (turbo Terminator), 10 sec Jeep SRT8 (twin turbo), 13sec F350 on vegetable oil (on 40s with 10” lift, crew cab long bed, hybrid injectors, big turbo, lots of fuel) 10sec Hellcat, and now an 11sec F150 on its way to 10s.
I know, on this site, 10s are easy, but the Hellcat was the only thing that did it Stock! (Other than the bikes) Everything else it took handfuls of cash.

If I was targeting 9s, it’d be in a Hellcat. Easy to do, easy to maintain, 0 street manner sacrifice, perfect daily. Just waiting for the market to return to earth.

The manifold is an older Barton unit, from older SS/AH cars. The outer sheet-metal is concealing the actual plenum. Tons of torque.

Looking at this thread reminds me that I've never really been good at documenting my racing. I've just been busy racing. I need to drag out what pics I do have of my stuff from back when and convert them to digital.
Here's the only race car of mine that I have any good pics of. I bought it in '14 so it's not exactly from waaayyyy back. Pretty cool car though.

We ran 3.70's @ 205-210 with it. It ate time and it ate money but it was a fun car to race. 100% family racing. I did the engine work and tuned it. My son drove and worked with me on anything the car needed. My wife and DIL packed the chutes, pulled him into the beams, etc. Good times.

Thanks for posting up all the cool cars, this is just what I had in mind for this post!
Here is a '68 Coronet R/T I found in a barn 23+ years ago "The Boston Strangler". I had my black '68 RR above already so I bought this for cheap, cleaned it up and made about 20 passes in it and sold it for almost double to a local. Last I saw of the car it had made it's way to Ohio. It ran mid 10's with a iron headed motor and the two 4's.
