I have always used Kooks; never had, or seen, any problems. If it was a full build, I would go with the headers; even if you don't realize anything at all from it, it's more traditional to me.
OEM can make 1000whp no problem. Keeps things a bit more quite too vs. aftermarket. My old HC had OEM Headers/cats straight piped all the way back and was STUPID loud. (Vibrating neighbors windows/walls lmao) The headers will perform/look better in the long run and will suit the 426 build. If noise isn't an issue send it!!!
I would put long tubes on a built 426. In the early years of the LXs, the Kooks were the only way to go. American Racing came out with their’s when the Challengers came out and THEY seem to have taken over as the go to for best performance. (That’s just my interpretation of what’s been going on in the market). I’d research them both for what “tuning” engineering they’ve put into them. Good luck and have fun,
