@Mr Blue see told you early this morning to intro yourself. Good to have you. You certainly have attracted most of our ex-cons to your thread. Hope you like us.

As is said above the Eco-mode is harmless. I think Snow mode starts in second also, and is interesting without capping your power. Mine shifts out of first so fast and so forth, I have not even considered trying the Eco-mode in the Durango. It has it huh? I have to admit, on some chilly evenings in MN, the Eco-Mode has been used on my Challengers. Otherwise I am nuts enough to see how quick it may spin itself up.

Thanks for having me. The Eco Mode comes on by default but when I hit the highway I switch it to Customs. I must say this way more fun to drive than my tahoe. I'm never looking back

Oh funny. I had to drive a company Tahoe for a while. No comparison.

MDS wiped my cam at 50k miles due to idling. It absolutely will kill it, but mostly due to lower oil pressure. If you can is out of warranty tune it and disable it so it never kicks on.

I got 187,000 miles on my 13 Ram Express before I lost two lobes on my 5.7 cam because of MDS.
Eliminated MDS and VVT and had Moored Performance do a tune for it. I dropped the ball trying to get a wide band O2 sensor installed so he could really tighten up my tune but it runs strong and does really well and I am now at 237,000 miles IMG_3806.jpeg IMG_3797.jpeg IMG_3789.jpeg IMG_3809.jpeg

Everything except the bottom end (still has cross hatching and no lip on cylinder walls) and transmission.
I did the valves, push rods, new HP Melling oil pump, cam, lifters, headers, gaskets, and every accessory and pully on the front, as well as fuel injectors and MSD coils, plugs, an all-aluminum B-Cool radiator, 180deg thermostat, Flowmaster exhaust all the way back, did new Eibach shocks and struts, Power stop brake rotors, pads, calipers, lines, steering components, wheel bearings, plus engine and trans tune from Moored Performance etc, etc!! I got a quote of $3,200 to repair cam damage and that did not include stock cam if it were bad, so all in all they said about $5k to fix just that issue. I basically replace everything under the skin for just a tad over $9k and just took a week off work and did it myself!

Plus, I removed the chrome badging and switched all the lights to the OEM black sport lights and a set of black sprot rims with Nitto sport truck tires for summer and Blizzaks on the chrome rims for winter.
It's deep cherry red with tinted windows and a little more power, very FUN truck to drive.

Often it's not what people say, but the way they say it that makes all the difference.

I'm sure the OP will overlook the the attitude and still try to like us anyways.

Yup. I set my CUSTOM MODE to SPORT and double click the SRT button to activate it as soon as I leave my driveway.

Not harmful, just annoying.

Tune won't help you.

At 8:29 of the vid I posted, he said he's seen manual trans cars that don't even have MDS experience Cam/Lifter failure.

I got 187,000 miles on my 13 Ram Express before I lost two lobes on my 5.7 cam because of MDS.

To test your theory that MDS and/or VVT played a part in your extremely high mileage lobe failure ... see you at 374,000 miles.

Until then, by force, it remains just a theory.

I got so many miles because I drive a lot of highway miles (I bought it new) but it's a proven oiling problem with the lifters when you have excessive idling and the MDS shutting off lifters, you can believe what you want. I know what our engineers tell us.
