My experience with the 4.5 Whipple…. One of the single most effective things you can do with that supercharger is plenum spacers. I made 1200 rwhp five years ago with that 4.5. Car ran 8.7 at 4500 lbs with that combo. I was running a +10 at the crank with a 4.0 Griptec. One of the issues that supercharger has is belt control and it needs one of the high tension aftermarket belt tensioners to do that at the higher boost levels. I would also recommend not going smaller than the 4.0 on the supercharger. A icebox/chiller to reduce your IAT will also be a huge benefit when the boost goes up. That is not a cool running supercharger compared to the new gen Whipples. Also…. I would increase your injector with those changes. 1700’s at least.

Before I did a Dyno tune I ran a 9.4" my PB. That was with my car weighing around 4400 with stock suspension on a 17" Radial. I'm going to wait until fall when I add my chiller tank, 15" rear conversion. AAD suspension Drag pack, Demon Springs some 15" weld beadlocks and slicks. I been saving up all summer for the parts. And Gut the car some more to lose weight. My plan is to crack a 8.9. without adding anymore power because I'm SBE. Plan on relying on weight and suspension now lol

Damn 8s that's very impressive. Where I'm trying to be. My tuner suggested the same thing. Told me not to drop down below a 4" unless I decided to get a 426 with my 4.5" whipple. And also suggested to get the icebox chiller for when we retune in the fall. Decided not to go too aggressive on the dyno due to it being so hot that day and heartsoak. My plan is to Gut my car to as close to 300 pounds Off. Invest in a full drag suspension / 15" rear conversion & shoot for a 8.9 pass. I feel it would be very possible with an automatic but being it's a stick I know it will be a Feat
