Showed up yesterday with my last Load. ANOTHER Flat. Carraige bolt went INSIDE the tire. It was bouncing around in there when I removed the assembly. Goodyear Trailer Tire # 2 @ $202

Just kidding. I've killed a ton of trailer tires over the years.
Back when we used to drag stackers around we kept 2 spares and the
tools needed to change them out in an easy access area on the front of
the trailers. We got really good at changing them out in no time.
I never really wanted enough practice at trailer tire changing to get good
at it. lol

If you do ever pour that in with concrete be sure you have plans for where rain can runoff when the big monsoon downpours hit!

I am on it. I will have the cement contractor shoot it in with a lazer. It's funny you should mention this. Last night at 4:30 AM I heard this racket. I am like what the hell is that! It was huge rain drops hitting the sky light in my master bathroom. It rained real hard for a while, with lightining and thunder. The wash next to my back Garage was flowing "knee high with water" (according to one city worker I met). They came in and put up road blocks until the water subsided.

OHIO lives on 10 active tracks. 5 tracks within hour and 20 min. Now neighboring Mi is in trouble with Milan up for sale, sad.

The track closings are a big concern to me. More and more seem to be going away and I'm not hearing of any new ones opening up. Atco, HRP, the list goes on.

Sucks HRP is closing - leaves only HMP in Houston, which can be sketchy and only 1/8. Up until recently rumors were that at least a few more years were to be had.

Byron has been for sale for a few years now with the forest preserve breathing down its neck.
Offers have been made but the current owner knows it will close if he sells it to them.

Byron is one of the most racer friendly tracks I have ever been to. I met the Owner when I was there. It does not surprise me he is cherry picking the buyer for the benifit of the racers.

Ron passed away not too long ago. The man lived and breathed drag racing. Even started a trucking company to help run the drag strip.

From what you say it was probably Ron. But you think I would remember that! It was late summer 2018 I think. This guy was running around checking on everything and he was constantly checking the track surface and he was personally hand spraying the starting line with traction compound. I just happened to catch him refilling the hand sprayer out back and I started talking to him and complimented him on the racer friendly attitude of the track and his much appreciated attention to the starting line prep, which I LOVE. He said a few things and said the reason he was really into it was because he was the Owner.

Honestly, it could be either.

That place is their baby. Its as clean as you are going to find, they just spent some money redoing the tower and the track surface.

The only time that track sucks, is the week before Thanksgiving when they are closing for the year. But only a handful of cars ever show up anyway at that point as temps are in the 40s and no one is bringing a drag car out that late in the season.

I already paid.......I also paid for Legion of Demons "Battle At Baytown" for the next weekend. I get maximun chances at a PB.
