^^^Yeah the odds of a perfect paint match are so low, that door would always look a little off. I would just try to correct it as much as possible and leave it. Good luck!

I understand, and if it's deep enough, it will need it, but there exists the possibility that it's "only" into the clear-coat, and if so, it could be blended out...

Kinda looks like it's through the clear coat...he could try other methods..if none work...bust out the 2 g's...(and be more careful from now on)

That red...is not that hard to match...(@ the right shop)...your silver..not so easy..so watch yer horns around the car..

Paint (TorRed) is (or was) expensive.
When I had my strat (guitar) painted TorRed, it was 450 a PINT.
That was in 2017-2018.

1. You live in the middle of "everything is overpriced" land.
2. It'll happen again, especially if you actually take it out and drive it.
3. Have a reputable detailer buff it, maybe some 1000 paper, and let the next owner deal with it.

Battle scars make the car more drivable and parkable. Use it, abuse it, don't worry about it, and if you get $5k less when you sell it in 10y, you are way ahead. And if, in 10y you want to restore it, great!

Don't become obsessive, it only hurts you.

How much do you know about guitars?

Only that I have traded good guitars more than I wanted to.
But since I can't play anymore (arthritis) I ended up trading a Les Paul and 3 great American strats for a work on my house.
My favorite was actually used in a music video (guitar looked great in the video).
Video, not so much.
