Moral of the story: too many dumbasses willing to do the deal with out really examining the car. Oh, I drove it a few miles, seems great. Here's the check! How much for the car? I'm taking this to that pothead influencer in Dallas.....

Probably used a clothes hanger for a welding rod.

If it's for sale, I'd buy it just to strip the engine and trans out of it... Poor thing. The body looks beautiful in that yellow, though.

The original one looks to have been ripped out pretty violently, would make the rest of the car suspect.

Makes you wonder the damage done to NEED such a repair. Somebody curb hopping or offroading in Hellcat?

I'm betting there's probably some frame damage along the line.

Definitely looks like they drove over something and it got hung up on the cradle. Doesn't look like a new oil pan or rack, so it may have stopped right there. The IC line is intact but the bumper cover is buck screwed on...

The point made above about the frame damage.. yeah, probably brought those 2 sides closer together than they were before. That would make it tough to put a new cradle in...

The plastic cover that goes from the bumper back to the cradle is $135, don't ask me how I know
I wonder if they slapped a new one up there to hide the damage.

I ran a brake pad from a dump truck over one day... lifted the car off of the ground (because it didn't fit!) before it ripped through the back tire... visual inspection of the undercarriage resulted in no damage.

More importantly, I wonder if this guy drained his oil cooler with every oil change? That would be a deal breaker for me.

I managed a police fleet of Chargers for quite a while. My guys were incessantly running into curbs of one type or another. They'd dent the crap out of that front cradle, but it would protect the engine every time. It would sometimes bend some of the suspension pieces with it, so I'd provide a new cradle and parts to my labor shop. Total cost was usually around $2,000.

I'd say, someone bent that cradle and just paid they're buddy to cut out the bad section; weld in some steel and cover it all up with an new, lower cover; then traded it in or gave it back to the lease company that way.

Can you imagine buying that car at a used car dealer who bought it at auction and finding that the first time you went to change the oil???

Nah, that's all a bunch of crap. That's how it came from the factory.
