Ideally I would like to buy a bolt on kit. I'm on the Gearheads email list for when and if they become available again. I've sent BMR an email waiting for a response. Seems they are available for every other platform but ours? Who else has one that they would recommend?

Carlin Fabrication in Calimesa Calif. They are making production mounts now for the Challenger and Charger. The mount is removable once the initial attachment to the frame is done. 2366A121-79DC-4454-A450-718FA96E72F5.jpeg

$1653 and some change for the complete kit shipped to Texas. With material cost going up it could be a little higher now.

That is for a single Pro Stock size chute. Stroud is the most popular and generally what Carlin installs. You don’t need 2 chutes until you go over 200 mph. The single chute is required at 150 mph. EC8F8685-F229-4594-ADAF-7F36F668F7E3.jpeg

I saw your Facebook post. Looked great. I’m thinking I’m going to need one as well after I finish my ordering spree I’m on now…. Are you doing a cage or just the chute for now?

Chute and engine diaper for now. I love my car too much to put a cage in it. I personally think that's going to be my deciding factor on how far to take the car. The more thought I put into it the more I'm just going to stay around the high 8's for a while. I think my idea at the moment is to build a stock displacement bottom end with billet rods and diamond coated pistons a set of good ported heads and a custom spec cam. Make it capable of mid 8's on boost. While still being a reliable street toy.

8s are the new 9s. Running 9s you used to get hit with all the safety stuff now with the rule change it is 8s and just like years ago with the 9s there are a lot getting into the 8s now. You can go to an event and go low 9s and have fun but if you have a car going even high 8s at an event you are going to spend a lot of money on safety equipment. I would like an 8 second time slip but think for the most part I will have a 9 second car

That’s why private rentals is where you can go 8’s no problem. I’m at the point cage my car or not.
Going to Texas in January hopefully go 7’s

Yep just will have issues at nmca or the like. They come to 131 in July so I will be fine. You and Jon on the other hand may not be. I dont do enough class racing to worry about it. We have lots of rentals (you should have stayed Sunday to do it back in October) plus I will be fine on a tnt
