BADASS. I love the idea of this class. I hope the reality of it is as cool as its potential.

Love it! Hope it catches fire. (The class, not the car)

Factory X should replace, ahem, the current "Pro Stock" or Pro Camaro class as I call it immediately, except it probably won't because of past legal issues NHRA has

They can keep pro stock if they have to just show factory stock on TV instead. Even adding Chevy powered mustangs still isn't helping.

GM just unveiled its 632 COPO
Wonder how long before that gets the Pro Stock treatment but with 132 more cubic inches?
ET record is in the 6.40s i believe.

I talked to Geoff for awhile at moparty last year and he said he was working on the x car. That was the 1st I had even heard of it and I didn't ask what was different

I hope to see this class racing at Bristol in the spring. I really enjoyed watching the factory stocks cars this year

The NHRA is trying to come up with a class of cars besides the fuel stuff that is interesting to watch. They have always let classes like Pro Stock evolve to a common point where they are all the same. With them even a class as exciting as Pro Mod is evolving into nothing but aero modded late model Camaros. Unlimited budget heads-up competition means everything gets maxed and consequently everything ends up the same. Go to the other sanction events like PSCA/SCSN and you have the variety of different Pro Mods that are every wild looking car you can imagine. That .01 second be damned. The classes that are really catching on are the Outlaw and X275 tire classes. This FX class is NHRA’s attempt to get some of that. I’m sure they’ll fuck it up. First time a MOPAR starts to win, they will weight it down to stop that.

Absolutely Otto! I loved Pro Stock back in the day, but its demise began when they stopped requiring steel roof & quarters. The racing is certainly closer than ever, but the cars are boring, and as you know, the engines are total unicorns but they sure are impressive from an engineering and refinement standpoint. And the latest aberration of allowing any engine in any body is pure sacrilege to a purist like me. The class is totally being propped up for life by two teams, and as soon as one of them has had enough, or heaven forbid maybe gets interested in Factory X, the show is over, as it should have been killed a while ago. Just my opinion of course..

Chevy stock has been boring for a long time, it used to be my favorite class back in the 80s up until Dodge got out of it.
