Leather Dash Swap.

Well, my 2015 dash is blistering, at the leading edge. @DodgeCares and @SRT were useless in helping a halo car owner.

Bummer. Seems like Stellantis no longer values the prestige of the ICE vehicles that put them back on the map.

I've decided to replace the dash cap, myself. Since it's on me, I thought I'd update it to the leather dash. Anyone out there know what MY the leather Charger dash started? This is the beginning of my research.

Not if it's a 2015. It's some sort of textured junk plastic, notorious for peeling and blistering, at the edges.

Don't feel like the lone ranger, they will not help with the missing features on my '23 Durango SRT & the dealer has been ducking me for 2 weeks now to make an appointment to get the shitty build quality items corrected.

2020, standard on cars with leather interior. It's not leather it's rubber but has the stitching and texture looks a little nicer than the elephant skin dash of the older cars or non-leather interior cars. If you do the dash, I'd recommend doing the door panels as well as the texturing is different so it will look off.

My 2019 has the “pleather” dash with stitching. A 2018 I test drove still had elephant skin (familiar with from my 2012).

I read that description of a “Halo” car, what specifically makes your charger a halo car???? While I get the Viper and the Furd GT, what about the charger makes it special? It’s just a charger…no? Its like every other charger out there or is there something special about yours?

Agreed you need to change door panels also to look correct. Can you pull your dash and have a local shop actually recover it in real leather??

I was considering this mod, since I’m not a fan of the elephant skin look. However, it looks like a pain, so I’ll wait until the dash starts to lift. Here’s a video on the removal:

For those with the 2019+ models with the pleather dash, are the side panels of the center console also pleather or elephant skin?

Nothing He's just stretching to say that Dodge should be so appreciative of hime buying the top-of-te-line Charger that they should warranty his car forever.

There's this company. When I was restoring my '73 Challenger I sent my shell door panels to them to have new vinyl molded over the panels. Great work, matched OEM color and texture and since they were my original panels I didn't have to worry about fitment issues like people were finding out about the repops.

It actually failed during the warranty period. They replaced my console side covers and driver door panel, but denied the dash. No reason as to why.

Now, I'm just tired of looking at it and need to do something about it.

I appreciate the comments and feedback though.

I'm sending the dash, from my 59 cadillac, to them. They do the best restorations, hands down.
