It would have been noticed if he actually had his tires rotated and balanced 3,000 miles ago. What do chopped tires look like anyways?[dunno]
Why do that when you can do nothing then blame others and act like you're doing a public service when it should have been common sense to begin with?

Tire balance, not alignment causes cupping or what some will call chops around the tires. Could have been a combo of bad toe causing the inside of the tires to wear uneven, made worse by bad balance with made the cups around the wear area.

Let’s see the alignment specs before and after, OP. I agree with Bull, get some new Michelin’s with the mileage warranty and be happy for a long time.
